History in a Pinch

A quote from our writer this month “I chose to write about this because it makes 81 years since the holocaust began this month. I also got a chance to meet Andy Fraunce, a man that was captured by the Nazi's at the age of 12, but managed to escape.”
Who: Adolf Hitler, Nazi's, 6 million Jews & 6 million non-Jews.
What: The Holocaust.
When: The Holocaust (also called Ha-Shoah in Hebrew) refers to the period from January 30, 1933 - when Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany - to May 8, 1945, when the war in Europe officially ended.
Where: Germany, and other countries under Nazi rule at the time. (Biggest camp known as Auschwitz in Poland)
Why:Hitler had extreme hatred for Jews and anyone else he developed a hatred for was taken.
How: They were brutally captured by Nazi's and shipped to camps by trains. At the camps they would act as slaves for a time period and eventually be killed.
